Yankees Reactions: Ryan Weathers Struggles in Loss at Rogers Centre

TORONTO —— The Yankees’ struggles in Toronto, and against the Blue Jays, continue. The Yankees lost 8-5 against the Jays, dropping to 41-27 on the season. The Yankees have now lost 10 of their last 11 games in Toronto dating back to last season and three in a row against the Blue Jays overall.

The game was lost in the first inning. Ryan Weathers continues to be plagued by the long ball. He surrendered two home runs in the game, one to Kazuma Okamoto and one to George Springer, giving up five earned runs overall. Weathers has struggled with the long ball over his last four starts, and that trend continued tonight. Of the 15 home runs he’s surrendered, 12 of them have come off the fastball.
