NEW YORK — The Yankees have promoted RHP Eric Reyzelman to AAA Scranton, the Yankees announced Tuesday morning. Reyzelman was with the Yankees in Spring Training, and he’s impressed so far in the minors.
In Double-A Somerset, Reyzelman posted a 3.45 ERA and a 0.83 WHIP over 12 relief appearances. Spanning 15.2 innings, he has showcased dominating, high-octane stuff by racking up 29 strikeouts against just 4 walks, good for an elite 48.3% strikeout rate and a mere 6.7% walk rate.
Key to this turnaround has been a shift in his mechanics. After struggling to keep his delivery in sync during a rocky 2025 campaign, where his arm slot faltered, his velocity dipped, and his walk rate ballooned to over 22%, Reyzelman went to work replicating the repeatable mechanics that made him so successful two seasons ago. Pitching strictly out of the stretch, the 24-year-old right-hander has locked back into his natural three-quarters arm slot.
This adjustment has not only restored his low release height and wide, deception-heavy angle that terrorizes right-handed hitters, but it has also brought back his high-90s life and triple-digit ceiling, completely resolving his prior command issues.
The Yankees have been short on bullpen help at the MLB level, and the Yankees are taking a shot bringing Reyzelman to AAA, knowing a call to MLB could be this season. This is all contingent on his performance at AAA. If he is pitching well, not giving up runs and striking batters out, the Yankees should consider giving him the call over the summer.
